Prototype pcb soldering is one of the important reasons for generating electrostatic electrical overload EOS. The anti-static measures in manual soldering are as follows.
(1) Workers entering the pcb production work area must be grounded
Workers enter the anti-static area need to discharge. Anti-static overalls, footwear, and gloves must be worn by the operator. The static protection safety inspection must be done before each operation, and the pcb can be produced after passing the test.
(2) Use of the wrist strap (foot strap) and proper grounding correctly
1 The first step in operation is to wear an anti-static wrist strap.
2 Measure whether the wristband is valid every day and whether the workbench grounding point is valid.
3 The method of measuring the wrist strap (foot strap) must be correct.
4 Although many manufacturers use automatic wristband testers, it is often seen that the wristband is too loose to fail. It is better to wear the wrist strap when sitting and wear anti-static foot strap when standing, so it is best to wear both (wrist strap and foot strap) at the same time.
(3) Operation on an anti-static workbench, non-production items are prohibited on the workbench.
Necessary items should be placed 12 inches from the static sensitive device on the workbench.
(4) Use an ion generator if necessary
1 According to the level of electrostatic sensitive components in pcb products, ion generators are used if necessary.
2.The ion generator blows a stream of ionized air in the working area to neutralize the charge accumulated on the insulating material.
3.Another advantage of the ionizer is that it also prevents dust from electrostatically attaching to the product.
